Patient advocacy for those with incredibly rare diseases

Join us as we hear from Christine Rowe - Director of Global Patient Advocacy for Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Christine will be speaking about her role in patient advocacy working with people with incredibly rare diseases. Her son has a type of hemophilia where he's one of just a few in the world. Christine and our President Elect, Dan Yocum, are running the Boston Marathon in April on a team to raise money for rare diseases. More than just a coffee shop, owner Phil Shade has put together a delicious menu for our Club. After dinner, we will move upstairs to the Play if Out Escape Room. For an additional $10, you can participate in this fun activity! Escape Rooms are live action games where players search for clues, solve puzzles and riddles, and work together to achieve the final goal before time runs out. There are no special skills or tools required, just a willingness to have fun. |

Fresh For All is a FREE, weekly, produce distribution event. This process has been modified to a drive-thru, "touchless" approach. Our club will be helping to help bring prepared boxes to the pick-up tables and also traffic direction. Volunteers are required to wear a mask. Gloves are provided. At this weekly distributing, community members will receive 20-30 lbs of free produce. This program is provided to our community through a partnership between Keystone Opportunity Center, Philabundance, Grace Bible Church, and the VNA Foundation of North Penn. Volunteers should:

Bean Bag Food Program

Rotaplast International, Inc. is committed to helping children and families worldwide by eliminating the burden of cleft lip and/or palate, burn scarring, and other deformities. Working with local professionals, Rotarians, and other organizations, Rotaplast sends multidisciplinary medical teams to provide free reconstructive surgery, ancillary treatment, and training for the comprehensive care of these children. Rotaplast supports education and research towards prevention of cleft lip and/or palate. Their aim is to help local professionals build sustainable models for the care of these children, improving their lives and those of their families. |
